Since the VM engine is sold around the world and even used in 3 world countries what other types of engine controllers are out there?
There has to be none FCA systems that don't have all the security, can-bus etc tied into them. Would be neat to find a system that is stand alone from the vehicle then this engine could be used as a repower option for example a 1935 Chevrolet truck(pre-emission?).

That would definitely be useful for many situations. One of the problems I see is that there are not very many engines in the US to use for such purposes. Of course, you might be able to import one etc. Seems to me it would be much less trouble and more convenient to sell a good engine to someone who needs it and buy a crate cummins 2.8 with very comparable HP and Torque to repower with.

Looked into the crate cummins 2.8 before and IIRC ~$9K price tag.

Would a alternate fuel management system save a 2005 with a failed, and obsolete, FCM?

Front Control Module (FCM) is what I was referring too.
No, I don't need one as mine is a '06.

There may not be many but wrecked/rusted ones do come up for sale. Would be neat to know what other types of operating systems other 2.5/2.8 use across the globe.

What applications are the breakers in Europe getting engines from?
Can't all be from Jeeps.
