I'm guessing there are some Ford owners among us. I'm looking for some information on FICM (fuel injector control module) failures in the 6.4L powerstroke diesel circa 2005. Anyway, if anybody has forum recommendations beyond the top Google results or personal experience to offer in this area please let me know. I appreciate it. |

I have an 02. My favorite ford diesel forum is FTE (ford truck enthusiasts). |

Isn't there a power amplifier in the FICM? I think that there is. You may Google this and check. IIRC, there is a company in TN that will change the bad amp for not a lot of cash. The only down side is down time for the truck, but it's down already, right? Hope this helps. Hoosier CRD P.S. BTW, I believe that you have a 6.0 Liter PowerStroke; the 6.4 Liter came out in '08. |

www.powerstrokenation.com Good group for the 7.3s, not sure how popular the forum is for newer engines. |

Bean's diesel in TN is one of the best on the east coast check them out my buddy has a 1200hp daily driver they built for him. They built his first 7.3L up to 950hp so i would check them out. |

Beans does have a good reputation. Also, I am not up to speed on powerstrokes post 7.3s but on the 7.3s, the injector control module (forget the acronym, IDM or similar) is under the driver side front tire and has a tendency to die if it gets wet. I carry an extra in the car as a "just in case" as this is my "drive 2000 miles in baja on vacation" rig. They are pricey, but I found a place on ebay that carries them, you give them your VIN and they send you one out, for ~$150 (vs around $600-900 roughly). Some fuel filters, crankshaft position sensor and vitron rubber seals for some key fuel seals were the items to have with you if you travel in the middle of nowhere with a 7.3. Maybe there is a similar company that sells used/rebuilt injector control modules for your rig...? |

Fastring is correct the 7.3 forum is the best group of Ford owners. If you do not get help in your engine's forum, go to the 7.3 forum where many are Ford tech or multiple year and engine owners. |
