I have noticed that sharp slow tight turning is causing a skidding plowing feel almost like its in 4 wheel drive, I never really noticed this before. I had a 4 wheel alinement a month or so ago. Prior to that I replaced the upper control arms and upper ball joints and also the lower control arms. Last year I put 4 BF GOODRICH 235's on. I have had it back to the tire shop 5 times for balancing issues which I am still having. I think somehow something might be wrong with the tires but they are telling me that its because I put the 235's on. The CRD came with 225's but the owners manual lists a 235 option. :x :x

You may need to take it to a different tire shop and tell them you have a balance problem. Have them balance the tires and record what they find. Also looking for bad tires (broken belts). If they find a problem and fix it, good. Take the bill back to the other shop and ask them to pay for it. May or may not work, but your Jeep will be fixed. :-)r
As for the tire skidding, it could be stuck in 4x4. Have them check to see if is stuck in 4x4 when it is on the rack. Of the four 4x4 I have they all do this to a point, in 4x4 you will really know it. :pepper: It's not the 235 tire size. They could also have the alignment wrong.

the 242 transfer case will have issues shifting in/out - if there's any variation front to rear.

the shift lever pushes a spring which pushes a gear - if everything not turning the same speed - you may still be in 4x (stop and back up to be sure)

I have had this problem since I bought this vehicle at 52000 km. It happens once in a blue moon. I have never had it happen at any time I have used 4x4 or a period of time after use. I too wonder why it happens.

Peace,

Scott

I've experienced this behaviour occasionally since new and it's more likely to happen, or maybe be noticeable on loose or slick surfaces but of course, "cannot reproduce" :(

I'm guessing LSD behavior on the front - when the outside turns much faster than the inside wheel on a sharp turn.

Mine does it too.
