Take a look at Sir Sam's NOOB guide. You don't purchase an elephant hose as it's not a "part" for sale all you do is purchase an appropriate length/size of hose and a cork. Now if you want to add a Provent or similar filter to the hose you have to purchase that unless you want to go one of the variety of DIY routes. |

Go to the local parts house of choice. Ask for a crankcase breather element from most any mid '80s GM passenger car. Get about four feet of heater hose, black preferably. Stick the breather element in one end and the other end on the CCV nipple. I routed mine forward in the engine compartment and down next to the right side radiator tank. Comes out right next to the right side sway bar link at the frame rail. Cap off the elbow on the fresh air pipe between the air filter and turbo inlet. DONE! Should cost you less than $15.00 I have heard diesel techs call it a "slobber tube" or a "puke pipe". BTW, make a couple of holes in the breather element shell and put in a couple of tie wraps to hold in the element. Hope this helps. Hoosier CRD |
