I was filling up Saturday at my regular Wal-Mart, and noticed this little sign on the pump ![]() |

That's the good stuff. It will keep your fuel system clean and your engine running smooth. |

I love Bio, just a bit hard to find here. The place locally that carried it, and I trusted, was on the other side of town, and the pump seemed to be down all of the time. This was the first time that I had seen it a Wallyworld. |

The OP doesn't say where he is, perhaps Illinois, which has most retailers pumping B11 for tax reasons. While this is a higher percentage than Jeep says to use with this engine, I've put enough miles on my CRD at blends up to B50 to know that B20 or less will not harm anything. Use it, that is indeed the good stuff. |

B100 won't harm anything either, the manufacturers just didn't want to accept any responsibility for fuel-related POTENTIAL issues b/c at the time, not every retailer was supplying ASTM-rated bio. This was stupid anyway, b/c it is the responsibility of the fuel retailer to maintain quality of their product. I don't know of any car maker that would accept warranty claims for either misfueling (putting diesel in a gas or vice versa) or for bad fuel (water contamination, crap in it) screwing up an engine. That is all on the retailer and what is put into or delivered from their tanks. The problem with biodiesel is that it is an EXCELLENT solvent. Like a liquid brillo pad for your fuel system. On any diesel that has more than a few thousand miles on it, a tank of high-percentage biodiesel WILL PLUG THE FILTER without fail. Why? B/c all the sludge in your tank will be scoured out, and run right into the filter. This is normal, and exactly why big fleets were massively complaining of "problems switching to biodiesel" b/c they weren't understanding that they would need to be buying filters by the case for a short time. It isn't a badness in the fuel, it is badness in your TANK that is getting purged. Once you hit it 2 or 3 times with bio, the sludge is cleaned out. Doing it with low-percentage bio doesn't scour your fuel system anywhere near as badly. I have over 10,000 hours on my big generator (diesel) and 125k on my Jeep... I know for FACT that should I put B100 into either one of those... I will be purging the tanks into the filter and need new filters SOON after doing it. No big deal, but I can't do it anyway b/c there isn't any bio around here in Savannah. ![]() ![]() |

that is good to start seeing, there are no wal-marts in my area that sell fuel and the Sam's club only gasoline. I have seen that the hess stations in my area have a 5% bio label on the pumps and the sunoco station along the PA turnpike do as well. My jeep loved it. I have no real place to get Bio here anymore since awhile back the place I got B99 and B100 caught fire. I had ran b100 in mine a few times and man did it run smooth and quite. |

I'm gonna have to check local Wal-Mart to see if their diesel is now bio. Don't usually go there because its outta the way but will switch if its bio. I ran a tank of 90% one time and as previously stated, better have a fuel filter close by. Also bought it in the dead of winter and had to add something to keep if from gelling. But the stuff Wallyworld is selling seems to be a good blend hopefully with a good frenchfry smell ![]() |

I have around 95,000 on my truck.....I have run bio pretty much from the start....I run B20 in the winter and B50 in the summer....This year I kind of keep it at around B25ish due to B50's price of $4.99 per gallon....B20 is $4.43 right now.....HJ |

It has never been my experience that B100 plugs fuel filters. I can only speak about 3 vehicles but I have read time and time again about this filter plugging magic. I had a 1999.5 vw tdi with 230,000 miles on it when I switched it to B100. I put 10k miles on it (all b100) before selling it without a problem. My 2005.5 TDI had 130k on it when I switched to B100. It went 10k miles before I changed the filter at it's regular interval. I just got a 2005 CRD and it is on its first tank of B100. The only fear I have with that one is the stupid weather has dipped into the 20s the past few nights. I will agree it is an excellent solvent but in my own experience I haven't had any trouble running it in well-used vehicles. |

I ran B99 in my Libby for most of the first 60K miles. Ran great, no soot. |
