Since Diesels do not run under vacuum, diesel turbos do not use seals like gassers do.
If you have a clogged up return line, there will be oil leaking past the turbo shaft.
If you use a quality synthetic oil and allow the turbo to cool down, the chance of clogging up the return line is very slim. Again some people can break or destroy anything, even a piece of Caterpillar Equipment

Oil in the turbo inlet side is from crankcase ventilation. Provent, an oil seperator, or EHM can solve that problem.
