Hi all, after reading several articles about the provent and how to dispose of the oil while still being environmentally aware, I was thinking. If a small canister was made from say 1 1/2" abs pipe for instance and capped at both ends and a large hole was drilled at 12 oclock high on the end of one cap, a nipple for the hose placed in the hole, then drill 3-4 say 1/4" holes on the side also at the 12 position, when the canister was on its side it would allow the gases to escape but the oil to collect. When the canister was stood up since the holes would be at the top the oil would not leak out while you dispose of it (so long as you do routine maintenance). Now a small canister such as described could be placed in the bottom of the air box with the CCV hose running through the air box wall without restricting the air flow through the New K&M filter replacement. Since that filter is oil coated anyway and will be cleaned during regular maintenance it should work fine to filter any oil out keeping it from the intake. After a little use one would know how often that cleaning needs to take place. I would welcome any comments as to flaws I may have overlooked or not thought of.

Here is where I installed mine patterned after the TDI Guy's unit.

I used 3/4" hydraulic return line hose, the 3/4" braided clear hose got hard and had to be replaced. I installed a 3/8" drain line that returns the oil to the sump.
Plastic barbed elbows did not work and were replaced with steel elbows.

Looks great, what did you use for the polyester filter cartridge?

I think Squeeto used a stainless pot scrubber....
you only need something to slow down the air flow and the oil with drop out of suspension
