Hi guys, I'm a noob here so please bare with me. I just bought an 06 CRD to replace my aging 2000 (and gas gusling) V8 powerd Dodge Dakota quad cab 4x4. Here is my delema: I took the sno-way predator snow plow off of my Dodge before I sold it with the intentions of installing it on my libby. Well I did my homework prior to buying this fantastic little diesel powerhouse but appearantly I missed the fact that the libby does not have a frame but instead has what I've heard described as a uni-frame. There is no doubt in my mind that I can mount this plow to my jeep and it will push snow effortlessly, and keep in mind this plow is designed for small half ton trucks and I only use it to plow my driveway and my folks. I'm just concerned with what (if any) thing I should be concerned about by putting extra weight on the front end and what the effects that pushing will have on the uni body. Any questions, comments, answers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony

if Tom and TJ both think It's a bad idea - I'd tend to take their word for it.

(just because it's a bad idea doesn't mean someone hasn't done it - but they haven't posted results)

Lot to be said for experience! Probably not a common thing. A good fab shop can do the work - but as you say, there would be concerns about possibly twisting the frame that should be addressed as part of the design of the mounts.

Thanks for the direction guys... Like I said, I'm a noob. Didn't even see the search button DOOOH! The fab work isn't an issue, I'm fully equiped to do it all my self. I think I can make a few simple mods to the sub frame and make it all work. I don't plow commercially only for myself so I'm not terribly concerned with over doing it. Was just curious if anybody else had mounted a small plow on their Libby and what kinda results they had experienced. FYI, here is a link to sno-way manuf. http://www.snoway.com/index.cfm/act/choosingplow They make a plow/ subframe for the Liberty. I have an older model snoway that is 6'8" wide and only weighs about 275lbs (less the sub-frame) I have plowed with it for about 6 years and it has done an exceptional job. Their claim to fame is what they have dubbed as a down pressure cylinder used for back dragging. They made the plows so lite that they had to add an additional cylinder to add specific downward pressure to the cutting edge to keep the blade from lifting when back dragging snow. Thanks, Tony :D

could put on front hitch and may tbe easier to add whatever you need to that they cost about $140 but the weight is what I would be concerned about if you are driving it a lot with it attached may need to put stronger coils on front. Could do a quick attach setup and not worry about the springs

Good Luck

I agree, stiffer. springs would be necessary. I had timbrens on my Dakota and they helped a lot. I typically don't drive with the plow on any more than necessary. The plow I have now is easy on and off so its no problem.
