Guys and Gals,

Good day to you. :D

The TC on our 06 CRD committed Hari Kari in November. Finally got the money to get a new one, and have the Jeep in the the shop for installation. However, the old Turbo Oil Return Line has a hole in it and needs to be replaced. There are zero OEM return Lines in the entire Nationwide Chrysler stock. They are now saying that it could be June before they have any available. :furious:

Do you guys know of any other possible sources for an OEM line, or do you recommend any of these aftermarket / universal type kits?

Talked with Keith at GDE, he's making some calls on my behalf.

My Google page is now black and blue from overuse.

Any help would be appreciated.

~Miyanovich~

geordi might have a good used one available. If no luck there or elsewhere (I'm sure the wrecks out there could supply the line but the trick is finding it) I have one left over after installing my GDE turbo which I had not planned to part with but I guess saving it is not critical.

Hydraulic return line hose works great. I have used it on older engines that were not originally turbo engines. Make sure the clamps you use are all stainless like they sell at Home Depot or Farm Supply stores, the Chinese crap some Auto Parts or Harbor Freight sell will strip and fall off. If the ends that attach to the turbo and block are still good, you could slide the Hydraulic return hose over them and clamp it down.
If you don't have a Hydraulic hose place near you, some NAPA stores make hoses and Motion Industries sells Hydraulic Return line hose (but they are slow).

Call VM Motori, North America, they may have it on the shelf.

The delivery lead time from VM North America is quick, they may have it stock, if not then they can get it quick shipped direct from Italy.

They genuinely want to help us with parts.

Racer, Warp, and Indigo,

Thank you for the quick replies. I will look into all of your ideas.

Racer,

I heard about your wreck. Glad you are alright. WIth two daughters under the age of four, I shudder to think about being put into a situation like that. You seem to be taking the loss of the CRD pretty well.

Keith from GDE has actually called some of his contacts at VM. I will be calling him to touch base tomorrow. If that doesn't pan out, I will try your contact.

I'm about ready for this to be over. Both of my vehicles went down in November. And both of them are still down.

Goot Lahrd!! :banghead:

All they have is a local office to support customers, as in vehicle manufactures and end consumers like us. I had purchased my jeep before there was A Sam's guide posted and could not find just the fuel filter at local parts stores like advance auto parts and the local dealer was telling me I could only buy it with the fuel head. So I found Dana's number. she helped me with a part number for the dealer and also told me that Napa sold the item. In addition to that she sent me a printed copy of the engine service manual along with a cool hat all on her own.

Ditto, I was sent the same one ...... a Black one with the VM Motori engine on the emblem and the # 500,000.

The enblem is made of forged metal that looks like pewter.... It's pretty cool.

The Eagle has landed. Repeat: The Eagle has landed!

The fat lady is in the toaster. Repeat: The fat lady is in the toaster!

Keith/GDE scored a brandy newdy hose for me, from VM. He shipped it to me overnight. I received it today before noon, and it was in my mechanic's hand by 1:00pm.

This took two months to accomplish. Maybe I should have just called Keith right away.

Anyhoo, Keith is a savior, a gentleman, and a scholar. Please send all of your money to him whenever you get a chance, and chisel his likeness into the nearest piece of marble, alabaster, or granite, when you have the time.

Yeay to GDE and VM! And thank you to everyone on this thread. I will post the final results of my CRD fix here ASAP.

Update:

Turbo was installed with new Oil return Hose, but Jeep won't start.

Mechanics pulled starter and said they could spin flywheel around with their fingers. So, loose flywheel.

Flywheel bolts broke or backed out? When the turbo died, what could have caused this? I did limp the Jeep a 2 miles to my mom's house after the turbo went. There was some high revving. Possible cause?

Good news is that the engine hand turns, so it's not seized.

Thoughts?

btw, mechanics pulling tranny today to take a look and make sure it's bolts and not something else with the flywheel.

Update:

Tranny had to be pulled to inspect flywheel. Apparently, over time, the flywheel bolts came loose, and were shimmy-ing back and forth, misshaping the bolt holes into egg shapes. Some of the bolts then sheared off.

So, new flywheel hub and bolts are ordered and coming next week. Copious amounts of loctite will be applied.

New transmission seal will go on as well.

Should be good to go after that.

SHEESH!!!! :?

Heck, while the trans is out, have them slide on a Euro TC before that :dead: too. Then you'd be ready for any tune Kieth offers. :D It's only money. My :2cents:

Update:

After weeks of trying to obtain a flywheel hub, hub bolts, and a transmission seal, we only have received the bolts and the seal in house.

The local Chrysler dealer has been stringing us along and lying to us this entire time about parts delivery.

"You should have them by next Friday." "They're currently shown to be in transit." "Should be here by Wednesday." etc.

Weeks and weeks of this sh*t.

So, we've gone outside the box again to try to get the flywheel hub. Multiple places have been contacted, multiple games of chasey chase.

I talked to an online vendor that says his information shows that "Chrysler" will have some for delivery on July 22nd! Are you kididng me?

A call is in to VM Motori.

According to my mechanic, our local Chrysler Dealer was not only lying to him, and misleading him about my Jeep, they started the same sh*t on another one of his client's vehicles.

You know what, if you aren't going to have the parts, JUST SAY SO, YOU F-ERS!

I wish I had another a$$-high stack of money for more stuff. By the time we're all done with this round of fixes, the total will be $4000. That's enough for now.

Not to mention that my powerstroke box truck has to have its transmission spacer plate replaced. Which is a whole.other.story.
