Post subject:  Springs & Shocks question (OME)

So I've read the Lift FAQ and multiple threads but I have 3 questions.

I want to get the OME 790 and OME 2948 springs. I already have some Rancho RS5000 shocks/struts. If I combine the Rancho RS5000 with those OME springs would I need bump stops? Also would I have to worry about relocating the brake line? I need new tires badly but waiting until this thing is lifted up.

I wish I would have waited and got OME shocks/struts but that was before I had done research. I also was thinking of running 245/75/16 tires after I get the springs. I currently have the Cragar Soft 8 16 x 7 5 x 4.5" wheels so I think if I put those size tires on it now they would rub if not lifted.

in reverse order
245/75/16 will rub without a lift
245/70/16 will fit and Darby ran a 235/75/16 both unlifted and with a lift and said they were okay without and looked good with.

any lift - needs a matching bumpstop i.e. 2" lift - 2" bumpstop.
now all OME installed exactly as OME says -(nothing extra) - OME says does not - but I'd add one anyway - it's not going to change articulation much - and one cycle of stopping the suspension on shock internals instead of a bumpstop - can kill the shock.

do you have an 05 or 06? - the relocated brake line was recommended for 06's - but not necessary for 05's (and I've never adjusted mine)

Mine is a 2006. Thanks for the info! I'll go ahead and add bumpstops to my buy list.

I went ahead and got the tires. They rub turning when wheel is fully locked.

New to sight ,but you need the OME struts too. They are a 1/2 longer than stock and way better built.
