Has any one ever thought about or discussed this idea?

What about having some kind of a two or three day, regional seminar that is designed to give DIY Jeep CRD owners a chance to gain more knowledge and hands-on with the vehicle. We have a lot of gurus on this forum, but we also have a lot of guys like myself who are no stranger to a wrench, but definitely need a more thorough working knowledge.

For some, the threads are enough, but for someone like me, I'd benefit a lot more from sitting down in a room with some of the gurus and a Jeep.

What do you think? Would some of you Vulcan Engineer Jeep Masters be up for leading something like this in your region?

If anyone is Middle Atlantic or East Coast, and up for it, let me know. I will do anything I can to help.

Interesting idea. I certainly learned a lot getting my hands dirty at geordi's on timing belt, turbo, glow plugs and such.

Party at Papa's! :pepper:

Seriously, though, I think just having a diesel 101 would be helpful to a lot of people, not to mention a more intimate CRD knowledge, and, of course, trading perspectives.

I need a hands-on diesel 101 like a son-of-beehatch.

Be a great idea! Don't know if I fall into the 'Vulcan' mechanic category but the concept of a little hands on combined with meeting some of the folks and sharing adult beverages interests me.

I'd be interested in something in the Pacific Northwest, the Portland (OR) area in particular.

Count me in if there is one within reasonable drive from Brew City (Milwaukee).

Very good idea, I do not have the space or garage to host anything like this. but I am willing on giving my time to help in setting up a meet in the Mid Atlantic area, or on the east coast.

In Maryland, shoot me a pm or email.
Also I take that your flex plate shipped as promised from Poland. Glad to hear you got your little beast back on the road.

I will definitely be in touch when we get a few more people interested in our region.

It was actually the flex plate hub that came from Poland. And yes, it arrived yesterday. I also decided to replace the torque converter as well, since the tranny was off. TC arrived yesterday as well. If all goes well, Jeep should be finished today.
