Another muffler topic . . .

I see there are a few favorites here like the 40 series flowmaster, but has anyone tried or thought about the 1 chamber delta force by flowmaster, and if you thought about it and decided not not why? If you have it done or know someone who has, is the sound ignorant or bareable?

get a 12 dollar glass pack. seems to do the job just as well

If this had been my dailey driver I would have done the straight through glass pack myself, but since the it's the wife's wheels I didn't think she would be crazy about the possible extra noise.

Well my wife can't notice the difference in sound at all. The engine noise from the front is loud enough to prevent hearing the exhaust sound.

so your saying the delta force 1 chamber muffler would offer no significant advantage?

I'm using a V-Force muffler. It's the same as the Flowmaster 40 but alot cheaper, $120 istalled. Don't forget, you will need an extention pipe made up to fit any muffler because the oem muffler is so long and restricted.

Hummm, my Flowmaster 40 was $95.66 installed.

If it was my daily driver I would have just straight piped it, like I did my VW TDI New Beetle. But since it is the wife's I bowed to common sense.

You can straight pipe your new 200? magnum CRD when you get one.

I'm being hopeful that they'll do this.

That's one heck of a deal! Every place around here is getting over $175 to install a Flowmaster muffler alone..that's not even for new pipes!

Before I decided to go with the local shop and the glass pack I called around everywhere for flowmaster 40's.

Midas said they would do it installed for $95.00 plus tax.

With the glasspack, what brand, and is there any drone or exhaust note at anywhere from 55-80mph?

I have no clue what brand it is but they're all the same. It has a 4" case and 2.5" inside.

There is no noticable exhaust tone at all at highway speeds.

I haven't noticed any drone with my glasspack. Now my new tires on the other hand really howl between 30 and 40mph but above 40 they are quiet.

I have had Dynomax glass packs in the past and they are nice. They make some cat back systems and some nice 1 into 2 mufflers for dual tail pipes. They are more expensive than the cheap cherry bomb ones but they are a lot nicer and last longer.

Ha ha. I will not be held accountable if your wife kills you! My hearing is perfect. You'll notice a difference in sound in that, you'll now hear something from the back. Not much at all and none at all during highway cruising. I'd say the engine noise from the front is 5X louder than the tone in the rear.
