If this is not the right section, I apologize up front. I have a 2006 jeep liberty crd. It was throwing codes p0401 and p0299 and 3 glow plug codes. I ordered a new egr and new glow plugs. I replaced all 4 glow plugs and egr. I cleaned the piping going to it because it was stopped up. I also clean the Map and fcv valve very good. I also checked the cvc hose to make sure there was no cracks or splits. The jeep drives excellent and has good power. I am still throwing p0401 and p0299. any suggestions on what to do. I have cleared the codes quite a few times and it still shows back up. I have done a lot of research, but still no good answers. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been working on it for a few weeks.

What glow plugs did you replace with.....the old 7 volt ceramics or the new 5 volt ones.
The 5 volt ones need a new controller and the ECM has to be programmed before firing up the system or the new glow plugs will get damaged. :?

The codes P0401 and P0299 are not relevant to glow plug errors though and I see that papindigo has posted a neat link to a P0401/P0299 problem. The code P0401 has to be fixed first as that sets the code P0299.
Check the MAF sensor is plugged in properly and then follow the link papaindigo posted.

I replaced with 7v ones from dieselglowplug.com. Codes went away after install. After egr replacement i got the update done and that didn't help at all. Only thing I havent tried is that hose that was melted on the back of the motor in the thread papaindigo posted. Is that hose hard to get to. What all do I have to remove. Also I don't remember getting code p0299 before i installed the egr only after. If i remember right I think I was only throwing egr and glow plug codes. Thanks for the help

Is there anything else I should check besides that hose on the back of the motor. I am going to work on it tomorrow.

Thanks
