I wouldn't. Why risk using WD-40 when a product that we know works is easy to obtain. See viewtopic.php?f=98&t=22630 . Be careful not to get any of the black goop on your clothes as it is essentially impossible to remove the stain. |

Quote: Location: Slavonski Brod, CROATIA Maybe it is more difficult to find the MAP cleaner for you? I wouldn't use WD40 because it leaves a residue. Google isopropanol and see if it may work without damaging the sensor. I usually use Varsol and finish with brake cleaner. This is a very delicate device so only use something soft, like a paintbrush, to clean it. |

Although WD-40 does clean some things nicely, it is not primarily a cleaning agent, it is a lubricating agent that just happens to have a lot of solvent in it. The solvent makes it penetrate and coincidentally is what does the cleaning part. But it is the wrong stuff to use for cleaning the MAF because what you are trying to remove is, largely, an oily film. All WD-40 will do is replace one oily film with another, which is no real help. |

hi ivan, i cleaned my MAP sensor with WD40 and used it till i received my new one and it worked well. Now i keep it for replacement in case of problem. frankly, given the price of the sensor, i would recommand to replace it. |
