I need to find a good place to tap into a 12v wire that is only on when the ignition is on. I tried the power outlet but that is always on. I am trying to wire up a few aftermarket gauges. Does anyone know of where I can look? |

Use a probe and test the fuses in the interior fuse panel (left side of instrument panel, covered by door) for an appropriately switched circuit, then look in the manual to see what else is on that circuit, so as not to tax an indispensable circuit (see page 342 of the owners manual). Go from there. Fuse 21 is the radio, probably a good choice. |

Radio fuse is a dependable choice for most any reasonable power load. Mini add a line fuse taps are handy; pull the fuse; plug in the tap; plug the original fuse into the tap; hook your new item with fuse as needed to the power line coming off the tap. If you go that route you might want to call a couple of parts places as mini add a line fuse taps are not stocked everywhere. Took us 3 stops, all close together, to find them. |

In the fuse panel mentioned above there's one labeled towing/trailer or something that will work for you ![]() |
