Funny I got a call today from the Dealer that done the rear LCA recall about a month ago. They asked if I wanted to sell my CRD.
Seems that they are remaking the heads for the Penstar engines, and the problem is a design flaw, go figure.
I will keep my CRD

the 'we want to buy your Jeep' is a standard sales technique
makes no difference what you have - as long as you're willing to trade it in on something new.

X2
They play this game when they get bored.

But I have a dumb question.
What does the Pentstar blowing heads have to do with our CRD's :?:

Right... I made a mistake and jumped the gun.

I am light on the trigger when it comes to cylinder head leaks, since my previously totaled CRD experienced 2 head gasket failures back to back and within a 4 month window.

The PentStar engine is the V6 gasser.

I mistakenly read what warp meant, I believed he meant the VM Panther engine.

To appease the Lost Gods, I shall offer up a full grown angus bull as a sacrificial offering on the mountain top for my offense next time I'm there or smoke the sacred pipe in deep thought.

They want used jeeps to sell and with the Pentastar engines cracking and blowing heads at 20K, who except fools are wanting to buy a Pentastar powered Jeep before the problem is fixed?

BTW, they want to buy it out right with or with out a trade.
No way, I have worked hard for the last 5 years undoing the Bean Counter Engineering and do not want to do it again on a Pentastar. For gassers the 3.7L and the 4.0L are much better engines.
The rumor rumbles are getting stronger that both Chrysler and GM are going to bring the 3.0L VM to the US/Canada. Other rumors tell that they will share the cost of EPA certification to take some of the pain out of it. If the 3.0L VM does come here it would be a no brainer choosing the 3.0L VM over the 3.6L Pentastar which looks to be a piece of crap for now.
I wonder if there will be a Pentastar Engine used for any Fire Works Displays on July 4th, 2012 (they do blow up) ?

The sacred pipe will just give you the munchies afterwards... Better to sacrifice the bull, but do it on the Kingsford altar and at a ceremonial gathering of CRD timing belts, such that there will be a collection of Bishops of the Diesel Torque Wrench to witness and bless your sacrifice with spices... and sauces.

That seems VERY fishy... Why would any dealer be that willing to over-buy a trade, unless they were getting the new vehicles for free from the manufacturer, and thought whatever price they paid you, they could clear $5k over that in profit room?

This math doesn't add up. Are they making a concerted effort to target the CRD market, or is there something REALLY funky happening up the food chain with the Pentstar supplies and Corporate just wants them gone?

Exactly....last I saw Libby still had the 3.7. That dealer needs another hit off his bong.
