Need some input on the turbo solenoid pulling vacuum through the filter on it . You can here it in the cab.
Is this telling that it is bad and not working correctly. Can this cause power loss with the wast gate not opening and closeing
correctly. (fast Enough)

The 05/06 CRD turbo does not have a waste gate. It's a variable vane turbo and the position of the vanes is controlled by vacuum from the black tower looking thing behind the air filter box (there is a vacuum hose from there to a dome sort of thing on top of the turbo and then a rod from there down to the vanes). If the boost pressure solenoid goes bad the vanes don't work right and there will be a power loss.

GDE's writeup for this says "By-passing of the on/off solenoid is very straight forward. Trace the vacuum line output from the black plastic reservoir to the input of the on/off solenoid. Remove this vacuum line and plug it directly into the turbo EVM on the port labeled "VAC". The turbo EVM is the one with the blue rubber isolator and vacuum line running directly to turbo." if that fixes the power loss replace the solenoid.

My notes say to solenoid PN is 4606226AC and there may be after market alternatives as the same solenoid is used on other DCJ products

The EVM is the one with the filter and it is pulling vacuum throught the filter. I can hear it over the motor.

Is it buzzing? Smack it and it may stop. Mine does it once in a while.
