Post subject:  My CRD has a bad spark plug

In following up to this thread the dealer just called back and stated that my 'car has a bad #4 spark plug.'

Has anyone ran into this where they put spark plugs in diesels? *note sarcasm* I mean, where their glowplugs go bad in ~7k miles?

The spark plugs are right under the flux capacity. I thought everybody knew this?

I would be looking for a different dealer. Maybe they know there is no spark plug and dumbed it down thinking you would understand better. That's being generous.

The Dealer may be talking about a glow plug, but the spark plugs are actually located directly below the DiLithium Crystal Chamber and Dark Matter Conduit junctions

There is also one behind the warp core to ignite the plasma flow under the number three bulkhead.

but the only way they can go bad, is if you dont refill the blinker fluid with an approved synthetic fluid

I stongly suspect that the problem relates to the goldblute device rubbing against the framis interface

While it is in the shop don't forget to have them check the muffler bearings.

Just over 11k .. two bad glow plugs so far.

I think I am going to go for the Mr. Fusion aftermarket add-on in an attempt to avoid having my spark plugs (sic) go bad too.

Now you are just being crazy!! Everyone knows that the muffler bearings are sealed and do not require service.

However he might need to rotate the air in the tires. :D

the sealed muffler bearings are junk imo .. I just replaced mine with the moog ones with zerk fittings ... all it takes is one muffler bearing failure resulting in omni-rotational exhaust plumes to make you change your mind about spending the $$ for the greaseable ones.

how often do you all rotate the tire air? I do every 10k ( five tire air rotation as I think the spare air will get stale if not used. )

yes, turns out spark plugs make great ionization-based combustion feedback sensors for diesels. but really, generic OBD-2 codes need to be more specific.

did I waste my hard earned cash when I had my "Jeffery's tube" ported and polished? they changed my CRD's spark plugs at the same time, so I thought it was a deal! I got a sticker that adds at least 10hp to the Jeep

I've actually seen a diesel with a sparkplug, no joke. They've ran a couple of the EPA '07 Cat engines at work. They have a particulate trap on the exhaust. It's designed to trap the soot and then burn it off once it gets loaded up. To do this, it has several small fuel lines plumbed into the head of the trap, and a Champion sparkplug to light it off!
