My EGR light has been on for a bit. Finally had time to stop by the shop and get them pulled. P0401 EGR flow P0299 Turbo under boost. I haven't done any mods or changes to this system, but I have seen an excess of smoke at start up. (see my previous post, it seems to be from the ccv). I am not sure where to start . thx |

doing a bit of research. A busted FCV explains a lot of my symptoms. * I get a shudder when accelerating. Smooths out after a few seconds * Turbo has a bit of extra oil at the inlet (side effect?) * Getting the EGR code and the Turbo code. From a lack of air caused by the stuck FCV ? I've read some post of people just moving them to the 'on' position then unplugging them. I have to pass emissions soon. Will an unplugged FCV throw a code? thx |

It is not your FCV, that would give a P1140 code if it was the cause. You will not pass emission inspection with a CEL on. P0401 is EGR insufficient flow and P0299 is turbo underboost. Both are related and caused by a poor performing EGR circuit. |

So does that mean I need to pull all the EGR stuff off the Jeep and give it a good clean? [edit] And then install an EHM or Provent. ![]() |
