A local dealer has a 2006 Liberty CRD Limited with leather, sunroof, and towing package. It has 1000 miles. He is asking $22,980. This seems like a good deal doesnt it?

I'd say that's a pretty good deal. I bought my 2006 CRD sport for my wife for 22400 with 4 miles on the Odometer.
If you take the difference in sticker price, ours was 26200, you have a pretty good deal in my opinion,.

Yeah, I'd say it a real good deal. I just checked on the super cheap Carmax deals on the 2005 CRDs and they appear to be all gone. Over $7000 off of MSRP really moved them out!

The CRDs sold like hot cakes out here in the Midwest at only $3k below MSRP...

Thats a sweet deal. 1000 miles isn't even broken in. I would jump on it. I would also ask the dealer to swap out the tires for something better (have to credit otto for this suggestion).

Wish I could have found a used 06. Keep in mind the financing % may be higher because it is used, but if you are paying a large percentage as cash, that does not matter either.
