I hydro planed today and flipped my CRD 2X's. This was an awesome vehicle!!! I bought it brand new and it had just turned 97,000 miles. The size was perfect for pulling a Vermeer stump grinder and I pulled a 14' equipment trailer too. People were always amazed at what I pulled with the machine. I had full coverage on this vehicle and will be interested to hear what Nationwide will offer for it. I had the OME lift kit and oversize tires that made it even more fun. She'll be missed! |

Don't let them offer you a penny less than 10k, that is the book sale price for it. Chances are they will be very good to you, my family did OK when someone totaled a Mercury Mariner Hybrid we had. |

I totaled mine too and got a new one with less milage soon after. I suggest you act quickly and take all the parts off of the totaled vehicle that you want to keep for your next CRD. Glad you made it out alive and wait to find the right vehicle. |

Thanks guys! I have been pouring over the net looking for a '05-'06 and must say the pickings are slim. The sports are much more common than the Ltd. As far as timing belt replacement goes, is there a decal that's available that the mechanic places above the radiator to show a new belt has been added? I changed my wife's VW Jetta's belt and Gates supplied a sticker and spot to write the mileage. If anyone has any leads on a nice CRD please send it my way. Thanks, Tom |

If there's to be parts for sale, I want your overhead console. Part # 56010520AD or 56010527AD. Buzzards already on the roof. |

Man, glad you are okay. Yes, these mongrels are tough and great vehicles. As you can see from my signature, I have an '05 just like yours. You never know when one will pop up, keep looking! |

Thanks Guys! We don't know how good of a vehicle we have till it's gone. I use this "truck" to pull way too much stuff in place of my dodge cummins. I have been pouring over the net this morning and the pickings are slim. I am in too much of a rush. My OME 2" lift will be missed too! Thanks, Tom |

Nationwide is offering approximately $13,500.00 for my CRD. I gave the adjuster some items he left off and he assured me that the comps included the diesel engine. |

Racetracker, I was playing around with the $3,700.00 buy out number. Insert values for me ![]() Engine: Transmission: RH sheetmetal, i.e front & rear doors : Misc trim: Trailer hitch: Rims: Rear door: Scrap value of car: Looking around online the first search for the engine resulted in a value of $5495.00 http://www.gotengines.com/getquote.php? ... ubmit.y=31 In other words, the remaining parts off of my car will have to net a lot of $$$$ to equal the $13,500.00 offer from my insurance carrier. |

That is only partly true: You still get the $13,500, then that number is reduced by whatever the buyback is negotiated to be. For instance: Start with $13,500 received, and you have no vehicle. Buyback for 3500 negotiated (Offer 2500 to start and see where they go - haggle hard!) Now you have $10,000, AND a collection of good engine parts and some other stuff. Buy mine for $5,000, swap the engine into it Now you have $5000 in your pocket, one good CRD with a CLEAN title, and one collection of parts / scrap metal that at minimum will net you another $400 in scrap value. Good math... ![]() edit: Here are your requested numbers, and I am offering what MoparPartsAmerica is charging - I am probably going to figure on getting 50% of each of these numbers from the parting out - I haven't sold anything yet, pending what happens with your situation. Looking at these pictures, I am reasonably confident that the engine proper is still just fine. Doesn't look like the damage got behind the front crossmember, just the plastic got taken. Remember: Mopar Parts America prices. Engine: $6000 - block only, there are LOTS of other parts on there, such as: injection pump: $2017 Fuel Rail: $775 Cylinder head: $1175 EGR and cooler: $775 Transmission: $2100 Transfer Case: $1056 RH sheetmetal, i.e front & rear doors : $407 (F) $492 (R) Misc trim: Various Trailer hitch: $170 (etrailer) Rims: $245 (each) Rear door: $519 (I expected a lot more for that) Scrap value of car: Minimum $400 (based on final weight) |
