| Post subject: | Rubber hose from water pump to EGR cooler - part number? |
The steel tubing that returns coolant from the EGR is leaking at the weld where it bolts to the engine (just below and left of the yellow oil cap in the photo). I want to change the tube as well as the rubber hose that connects the tube to the water pump. Can't find the part number for this hose to save my life. Parts guy at the dealer was no help... Anyone ever change this hose or can help with a part number?

The hose is shown on the EGR page in the parts catalog, P/N is 5159961AA. |

Scratch that last P/N as that's the hose that goes from the metal tube down toward the EGR valve. The hose that goes from the metal tube toward the water pump is part of the heater hose network, P/N 55037738AE and I couldn't find any part number breakdown for the individual hoses. Maybe somebody else has them and could share. I just replaced the entire heater hose network. |

I don't know - the description sounds like 16 PIPE, Water Return 05142584AA Figure 25-210 on the 05 Parts Manual. |

The PN posted by ATXKJ is for the metal pipe but rather than replace the whole pipe, which may be hard to find, you might consider other alternatives. 1) reweld the crack; 2) cut the bad section of pipe out and replace with hose; or 3) ditch the pipe entirely and just use hose routed to the EGR away from hot things as needed. As for the "bent" hose from the end of the pipe to the "Y" metal fitting I don't see it in the PDF parts fiche but a good DCJ parts person can probably find it. For what it's worth my hose is stamped 10453729. Alternatively it's just a bent piece of heater hose so 1) there is a good chance a decent parts store can find a hose or section of hose with a similar bend although some hose cutting might be needed or 2) looks to me like a bit longer piece of straight heater hose of the appropriate ID could be used to make that or a similar bend. |

fatweasel, You could just plug the EGR coolant circuit since you are running a GDE tune. Cap the supply end from tstat and then the return to the block near EGR. Much cheaper and it will increase coolant flow to the cabin heater at the same time for better winter heating. |

Thanks everyone for the help! Will the air bubble created when I make the repairs purge itself out after I put the lines back together? |

The engine bay could do with a few less hoses.
