The engine blew in my 2005 CRD Sport. To quote my mechanic, "there's a four inch hole in the side of the block". He suspected a compression spike? Vehicle has 166k on it. Was great up to that point. Can't afford to replace engine. Would like to find someone that has the ability to source and replace the engine and needs a vehicle to put it in. Perhaps someone that has wrecked the vehicle but has an intact motor. Not sure what to ask for the vehicle without the motor but would entertain all offers.

"Compression spike"? Sounds like your mechanic needs to sound knowledgeable when he isn't. Sucks about your engine, perhaps it lost oil pressure and you spun a rod bearing.

You posted in the right spot, I'm sure there are people here interested in the Jeep.
