Post subject: | Breaking/ Broken Motor Mount? |
Hi Everybody, Put the car up on the lift and changed out the transfer case, transmission, and differential fluids. While I had it up on the lift, the transmission had a noticeable left list. Is this an indication of a broken motor mount? How does one know when one fails? I also tripped a P0700 code... car runs great, but error signal will not go away and I cant clear it. |

Thoughts: 1. could be a bad motor mount although they usually make a clunking sort of noise or could be a bad transmission mount, has been know to happen. 2. P0700 is a generic code that just says there is a tranny code stored. As far as I know only a dealer or equivalent code reader can read that code. FYI the P0700 will go away if the stored code is a one time deal and clears on it's own. Get a copy of the 06 FSM from Sir Sam's NOOB site for codes (05 FSM does not have them) |

1) Tranny mounts look good and the left one was obviously replaced recently. 2) Yea, I know it is the transmission error signal. Pulled the negative lead for a couple hours to try to get it to clear... no bueno. 3) I ended up pulling out a rubber hose that had a vent cap. Does the transfer case have a vent nipple somewhere? |
