I getting ready to get a new converter next week. I got some shudder last week 4 and 5 gear.
I was pulling a 3000 pounds of travel trailer up a small grade at 1800 rpm. I planning on going to the hot tune . I have the full torque right now. It not enough power close just not enough torque to hold 70 miles per hour.

There are two causes of that shudder, you know. Torque Converter is one of them, the other is failed engine mounts. I've been having a slight shudder for the last 100,000 miles, and gritting my teeth about needing a TC "fairly soon" the whole time. Just had a mechanic tell me my passenger side engine mount is bad, he could see the engine flapping around while running up on the lift. Gonna get that fixed this coming week, and we'll see if that fixes my vibration issue. You might want to have a look at the engine mounts before you spring for the TC.
