Ok so after a car crash and a nightmare with the insurance company I had my crd for 6 months without any major problems. Yesterday, I'm driving over mountain pass and water temperature rose high and after letting it cool. then trying to get it to start the engine doesn't turn. I try again and after holding the key for couple seconds of nothing room it starts. It idles horribly then clears up. As i drive I notice white smoke. Then notice there's oil in the coolant resivior. I knew I needed to replace the rockers or cam because my idle pressure was low after talking to gde about my why my turbo kit was performing worse than my last stock turbo. I have no idea what to do sell?? Repair?? I have mechanical hobby experience so in not worried about a little work. I have 170k miles and gde turbo kit with tranny flash. I know there's blow by because there's a lot of pressure build up fast in the vAlve train. I've done manny mods from rebuilding and machining the serpentine engine belt tensioner with steel inserts to help extend life, didn't want to spend 200$$. CCTV mod with a pasta glass can that has a filtration separator than then bleeds off excess back into intake while collecting oil. Replaced map sensor fixes small intercooler leak. Found a coolant leak from hose. Welded a bund to tranny pan to change oil and rethreaded pan and pulled broken bolts have, still gotta fix from oil leaks that are on my drive way. Hmmm that's all I can think of.

Please advise I'm low on cash but need a dependable vehicle, is she cursed? Ja Ja

Oh and a clunking from my cv shaft is now worsed by scratching and clunking from the engine. Althought there is no major power loss or shuttering. Only when engine cools I think water is filling intake cylinder. If I have warped head can I shave it straight I see tollerances are close.

After a couple hundred miles less white smoke but more oil in resivior

overheating on mountain passes - common with the stock Fan clutch - need the Hayden replacement - or a Fixed Fan mod.
if it overheated enough to shut down the engine - you may have warped the head (I don't know - it's supposed to cut fuel so that you can't do that)
White smoke doesn't sound good - steam? - water leak?
oil in the water doesn't have to be a head gasket - (mine was a blown oil cooler gasket) but it's sounding like that.
Did the engine belt tensioner extend the life? or cause the belt to skip?

If you warped the head - you can't shave it not enough room - they can straighten it - but it's clamped - heated/cooled
- your best bet is probably a rebuilt.

if you have a leak with water getting into the oil - you can kill the bottom end - water does not lubricate well.

Sounds like a blown head gasket. Pull the head, have it looked at to make sure it's flat. Install new head gasket.

What's causing the engine to lock up then it turns really slow knocks then starts?

Where's the best place to buy parts?

How do I check to see if I need to rebuild the bottom?

The rebuild should double the life since the original was alum rubbing on steel now with an inserts it's steel on steel.

What? :?

it was the reference to the Timing Belt tensioner - I was afraid he changed the tension - but that shouldn't really affect it
