Hey all - I just bought a 2005 Liberty CRD for my wife to use as her daily commuter. She will be traveling approx. 26 miles each way to work over back roads. We live in Lancaster, PA, so we are prone to snow, and she will definitely be taking advantage of the 4wd. It's a well-equipped Limited, and, although she wanted something newer, I able to talk her into it, and she LOVES it! :) Although I have an '06 Jetta TDI, which gets better fuel mileage, we will be using the Liberty for some trips now rather than the Jetta, so I will be driving it some, too. My intent is to "accessorize" it as $$$ permits. What I'm wondering is... it seems like there's a pretty good consensus that GDE's Eco Tune is one of the better, if not the best, performance tune? Am I correct in that? (And there's also one for the tranny?) That said, though, until we have enough saved up for that, is it worthwhile considering the $69.00 GForce chip? Or should I not spend (waste?) the $$$. They CLAIM that it will support the CRD engine, and they do have the money-back guarantee, so... ??? Also, I haven't checked on any other forums yet... at some point in the future, hopefully not TOO distant future, I am intending to use WMO with diesel fuel for my Jetta. I have found that I should be able to do 30% - 40% WMO. I am going to inquire about doing the same with the CRD, however, I am wondering if anyone here has any experience with that? b.t.w. ... I am convinced that I won't harm the TDI with WMO, so, if you are anti-WMO, please don't try to talk me out of it without some excellent documentation. That said, I don't know enough and haven't read and asked enough yet on CRD to know if it would be happy with WMO or WVO? biofuel. Thanks for any advice on any of my questions!

Hi BDS, I'm not too far from you, over in West Philadelphia. Welcome to LOST!

I recommend restarting your thread in the CRD-Love that Torque! Forum. The KK tech section is for those boxy '08-'12 Libby's with the 3.7L V6 gas engine. There are folks on the CRD side who can help you with your question. I believe many do run the GDE Eco tune. A good start would also to read Sir Sam's Noob Guide to CRD's (also posted there).

Good luck! :JEEPIN:
