I just got my CRD back after having the timing belt/serpentine/water pump replaced as well as a number of other things. (glow plugs, tires, brakes, etc.) It seems that they left the battery disconnected for around 2 weeks and since then maybe the inmotion tune is gone. (assumption) My reason for believing so is the lack of higher end power it had before, but this may be wrong. I am also getting a few codes thrown at random times, (not in times of high power or boost). They say that since the timing belt this has been happening and at first it pointed to the MAF sensor. The MAF was replaced, and i am still getting codes. My TCM tune from GDE seems to be fine, i have the same exact shift points and TC lockup speeds. I forgot to write the exact codes down, but i remember one of them is P0101.
I guess my real questions are; 1, Isnt the Inmotion tune a plug and play, or is it like GDE where you send in the whole PCM as a core? The reason i ask is because i found a box under the drivers console that plugs into the system, and the fact that i bought the Jeep with the tune on it and never upgraded to GDE's tune, so i have no idea how it was done. Plus if it was a plug and play shouldnt it still be there? Unless maybe theres a backup battery that went dead??? Just sounds wierd...
2, with this EGR bypass, should this eliminate all sludging of sensors (MAP in particular) or should i still have to check up on them? Also, does the EGR bypass have a flash on the PCM that might have been erased? How do you trick the PCM into thinking the EGR is working properly? On another note, the was a plug on a harness that had aluminum foil wrapped around it that somehow slipped by me for a year or so... What the hell could that be for??? That was removed as well.
Thank you so much for reading. I apologize for being so thorough, but i want to get as much information on here as possible so you guys can give me the best answers. Plus i know this is the place for it....
