Just added the generation 2 fuel filter head to my jeep working around the ABS module when My ESP/BAS, Traction and ABS lights all stayed on. Was convinced I caused the problem. Got on Lost Jeeps and read over and over that it might be the right rear wheel speed sensor. My plan of action went like this: I ordered a new rear wheel speed sensor because it was only like $10. My DTC code reader will not read ABS codes so I went to the local autoparts strores and even though their scanners said they would read ABS code I got nothing. I stopped at a local repair shop and even his very big expensive scanner came up empty. One local shop wanted $100 to diagnose and then would tell me how much to repair. Just before putting my future in the hands of a local repair shop or the stealership my rear sensor arrived. About 10 minutes installation and success. My dash lights went out and everything is normal and right. Still baffled at the coincidence that I worked around the ABS under the hood and a rear sensor went out at the same time. Anyway I credit this forum with this fix. Stupid scanners wouldn't communicate for some reason and the forum still left me with some guidance. Every thing that this forum has documented about this jeep has happened to me. There was a time yesterday that I felt like giving my jeep away. Including the timing belt parts I have on order and have not yet received. Thanks everyone.

You are fortunate it was a sensor. It appears, form reports, that the more common failure is the wiring harness to the wheel sensor. My wire to the right rear sensor had 3 breaks in it. I just spliced a new wire alonside it and that has worked the past 2+ years or so.

Just bumping this back up because it happened to me today. Just cruising along and ding the ABS ESP and BAS lights come on. I plugged my scanner in and couldn't see a code. After three restarts the lights went out and then as I was driving home the same thing happened again.

Once home I checked all the wiring to the all the plugs, pulled the rear hubs apart and cleaned up the tone wheels and sensors (they were really dirty). Once back together no change.

I found this thread through a search and was considering ordering a couple of sensors for the rear but I think maybe I need to check the wiring continuity on the rears now.

Anyone else find anything different lately?

I started this thread and am pleased to say that my fix took and my jeep is still normal.
