Hi ,
Any advice as to what the problem could be with my CRD 2005 model .

Occasionally there is a loud clucking or snapping noise coming from the suspension ,sometimes it occurs when I pull off ,turn or go over rough terrain .Was told to replace the shocks that was done but still noisy ,last night went over a speedhump and noice came up again as soon as the back wheels goes over the hump ....been reading through some comments on this topic with some possible problem areas -
-U joints
-Ball joints
-Track bar bushings etc

Would appreciatte any advice .

Thanks

Willem

Is it coming from the rear axle only? If so, what about your upper and lower control arms? My lower were just replaced two months ago due to a recall. I guess they had rust problems. I never had your noise problem though, but like I said, they were replaced for free due to a recall.

Now that they're replaced, I have a noticeable rocking of the rear axle whenever I hit the accelerator, back up, or pump the accelerator while rolling slowly. I was told by a shop that now my upper control arm bushings are bad.

So perhaps you have both and your axle is rocking all over the place.

It sounds like its coming from the front right upon acceleration or turning ,also think it might be the control arm bushes ,apparently its better to replace the whole control arm since replacing the bushes is a mission .

After replacing the backshocks the rocking seems to have dissapeared ...
