Got a message from the shop thats putting my lift in, its a school and they are having major issue with the front shocks, they cannot get them installed. I was told its a tight fit and the boot might rip on the cv shaft on the drivers side..

How did you guys install the front shocks on a 2006 CRD with a daystar kit? I'm basically F'ed as they finished the rears and are going to put the fronts back to stock and I"ll have to do the rears...its snowing and raining here and I don't have time to do it..

help asap please

See viewtopic.php?f=98&t=29217&p=711946&hilit=daystar#p711946 with pictures. FYI too high a lift (IIRC over 1.5" or so) will run into CV boot problems due to the angle involved.

I put in the original 2 1/2" Daystar
it was not friendly.

I ended marking the alignment cams - and pulling them so the lower A-arm was loose.
bolted things up lightly - and the jacked the lower A-arm into position.

note - Daystar stopped recommending this lift for the CRD because it was too hard to assemble - and many folks tore the CV boots.

immediately drove straight to an Alignment shop - Firestone has a lifetime alignment - was ~ $150?

well worth it - take it back on a regular basis.

Also Taz had better photos - but the gasser Driver side CV is longer so you have a bit more room

ratchet strap works wonders too.
