Make me understand......
If I am going to change the timing belt and water pump, can I just pin the cam shafts, pin the crankshaft and use a universal camshaft holder while I loosen the sprocket bolts. After putting the new belt on I could tighten the sprocket bolts using using the same holder. Why would I need to use the special tool VM-1085? Isn't it's purpose simply to hold the sprockets to keep from breaking a camshaft while loosening and tightening the sprocket bolts.
Bought it new 06 CRD, 86K Love/Hate relationship EHM, eccotune, crapped out egr, Fumato, gen2 fuel filter, 7v glo plugs, new motor mounts, new right rear speed sensor. 22 mpg around everywhere.
