Hello everyone. I just did a egr on my jeep 2 hours and some skinned knuckles lol beats 750$ from the dealership. Remove the engine shroud Remove the entire fuel filter assembly take it right off the fire wall (good time to change the fuel filter) take off a couple of vac hoses that are none clamped. This will now give you enough room to work. Take off the two coolant hoses that connect to the egr( you Do Not have to drain the rad first) I pinched them with a vice pliers and had no room to work so took one off and it drained very little coolant (coffee cup) you want to take these off while the egr is still on so you can force the coolant lines off trust me. Then remove the two bolts from the circulation hose bracket. Remove the four bolts of the egr then force the circulation hose pull out the erg. Next unhook the electrical connection. Oil all the bolts for future and put two in the egr along with the new gasket ( to help hold it) and then manipulate it in. Connect the two bolts but not tighten then put in the other two now tighten connect circulation hose tighten then wire connection Now the two coolant hoses. Now put back the fuel filter. Fill the filter first with diesel and tighten put back on the fire wall connect all hoses. Now put a proper size hose on the bleeder screw and open it start pumping ( make sure the hose is up the air will release while the fuel stays in it then tighten the screw. Replace all hoses then your done. Start the jeep and put up your rpms for you'll still have some air it will hesitate but work though it. You just saved 750$.
