| Post subject: | How to find if my jeep has anything done about EGR |
Hello I am new to this site. I just bought a salvage Jeep Liberty CRD 2006 and getting it fixed. My question is how do i find if the previous owner done anything about EGR issue and Torque Converter as i bought this from a salvage auction i have no info about previous owner. It has 104000km on it. when is the timing belt due. In canada dealer says on 100000k but i have read on some sites it should be done on 100000miles which is 160kms confused on that. Any help appreiciated. |

Comments: 1. welcome to the forum 2. read Sir Sam's NOOB guide and while there download a copy of the owners manual (if yours is not on the shelf in the top of the glove box) and the FSM and parts fiche. 3. check the vehicle VIN on the JEEP site for any outstanding recalls. If none are listed they the F-37 engine detune was done and the TC checked/replaced if needed. The associated TCM change of shift points may or may not have been done but you cannot tell until you get the vehicle running (pre F-37 final shift into 5th is ca. 58mph and post F-37 it's ca. 63 mph) 4. timing belt change interval is 100,000 miles or equivalent in km. That said I'm of the opinion that a more prudent interval given the materials used in the TB is 6 years or 100,000 miles whichever comes first. 5. the EGR "issue" is that it adds soot to places where soot shouldn't go. There is not DCJ "fix". After market fixes include SEGR, GDE tune, removal or plugging of the EGR, etc. |
