I found this post by newbe (crispy) in Australia under general discussions. I copied and paisted. Thought there may be someone down there that may be able to help them?

I was given a referal by a friend to a Mechanic who specialises in these sort of things. Injectors were removed again and compression test was undertaken. In his words there is nothing mechanically wrong with this vehicle. %99 sure he said. The mechanic is well known for rebuilding these engines and was confident after hours of listening and blowing compressed air through the motor that all valves,pushrods etc were fine. Reckons we would be mad to take it apart. Totally lost now and starting to freak out. He promptly put me onto a well known auto electrician who after several visits assured me it isn't an electrical problem as there were no codes coming up and the injectors were getting power. He recommended another diesel specialist. Its like being on a roundabout. Contacted Chrysler Australia again and they said that the dealer at Albion in Brisbane is not reputable and I shouldn't use them. Help. What to do when the dealer isn't recommended by the Manafacturer. After spending over $5000 I still have a car I used to love that won't go. Main assumption by the rebuilder is that cylinders 2&3 are misfiring. Please anybody with any ideas help me. I will be in debted forever.

If the people who are looking at your CRD have not worked on a CRD before, RUN! Find somone who has. Lots of good shops have missed out on a known issue on these engines.

If you find someone who you trust. They need to do a suck - blow test. This will tell you is the engine broke some rockers or jumped time.

1. Remove the turbo boost hose connection to the intake. (this is on the drivers side with a clamp)
2. Start the engine. Place a dollar bill or paper at the intake. The paper should be sucking in only. If it is blowing out and poping. Your Engine jumped time and or broke rockers or Pistons.

If so the intake will need removed for repairs, along with the fnt of the engine.
FYI... this is a common thing. But $$$$

Hope someone has some info for these people to get help?

Can I just say that there are a number of people trying to help him out on the Ausjeep KJ forum. Part of the complexity of his problem is that he has had a a number of different 'professionals' look at it and all tell him something different. He's over the timing belt service interval, and knows little about how the engine works.

Apparently none of his experts have even checked to see if the engine is in time and I think that should be one of the first things looked at.

So we are helping out but of course more hands are always good.
