Sear's is have a sale on batteries. It is 20% off making the P1 about $175. Get another $5 off by using code SEARS2013 when you check out.

FYI

looks like Sears screwed up on this one. I checked it out & it was $179. I continues surfing the web, went back to order it, and price had changed to $197. Seems their typo changed it from 20% off to $20 off.

Curiosity, why don't you guys get the optima red top 800cca? Advance auto has it with $205 and if you buy it online you get 20%off year round with p20 promo code. Also its free shipping. From what I know those are the best for diesels and offroads due to the spiral cells that resist vibration better. Any complaints regarding optima?

The Red Top of today is not the same Red Top of yesterday.

For my $$ a marine grade battery will resist vibration very well. You can also find a standard 800cc USA made battery from Johnson Controls under various names like energizer at Walmart. I have also had good luck with East Penn batteries sold as various retailer house brands. These will sell for around $80. Warranty on the one I picked up in Dec has a 3 year non prorated 7years total.

Of course, it's probably made in china... Knock on wood, haven't had any issue but I'm only at 2.5 yrs usage.

According to the specs, the Sears P1 battery is rated at 850 cca, which I would imagine fairs much better in the winter time during the much colder weather than optima red top.

Most of Johnson Controls batteries are not made in the USA,JC now owns optima also and they are made in Mexico instead of Colorado.
