Peace, I can't see how an injector can be the cause of air in fuel. Give us more info, did you change the fuel filter, mileage, mods. etc. |

Jeep has 116000 KM on her. Just changed the original fuel head to the 2nd gen. Still have air in the fuel issue. Currently have setup to complete in tank lift pump. Wanted to confirm that the lift pump would solve issue before install so decided to drop the jeep off at a diesel mechanic to do a pressure test. He says that there is no leak in the fuel lines. He claims that there may be an injector off the common rail that may be return to much fuel. He has gone ahead and started testing each injector to see if he can find a faulty injector. I know nothing about injectors and I do not understand how an injector returning to much fuel can cause air in the fuel lines. I am always down for the insight if anybody has the time to reply and educated an inquiring mind. Hope this helps. Peace, Thomas! |

Well.... let's see what your mechanic comes back with. Why not buy an inexpensive lift pump and install it temporarily to see if it eliminates the air in fuel issue. Did you check to see if your fuel filter isn't sitting on multiple gaskets? Sometimes the old gasket from the previous filter remains stuck to the threaded rod. A known air in fuel problem. Have your mechanic check underneath the fuel head for a stuck gasket around the threaded rod. |

Well...the diesel mechanic has gotten back to me. He claims there are no issues. Both the fuel lines tested good and so did the injectors. Awesome. I suppose I will go ahead with the fuel tank lift pump in a couple of weeks and hopes this solves the issue of fuel in the lines. I am so thankful I purchased a '92 4runner with with 265000 km on it that has worked flawlessly for the last couple of months. Just let the Jeep sit and wait its turn haha! |
