Post subject:  fires then stops

hi guys - had a load of problems last year - turned out to be number 1 and 3 injectors spilling back too much fuel and losing rail pressure - only found this out after i had changed crank sensor, pressure relief valve at the back of the pump and fuel pressure sensor .
i have put the jeep back on the road - runs fine but when you come to start it up - it fires then stops fires then stops then it will go - the odd time it will start straight away - do you think its the pressure releif valve at back of pump ( the replaced one was 2nd hand )
Thanks guys - this forum is the only way i got the jeep fixed !!

Check the fuel return flow on the injectors; if one and three were bad, you may have an intermittent on one of the other two..... If that checks OK, then I would take a hard look at the connectors, then I would look at the pump and rail.

mine did that when I first put it back together

turned out to be the coolant temp sensor was disconnected...

I guess the ECU code is setup to shut the motor off right away if the ECU doesn't know the engine temp.

just to let you know whats happened - i suspected the valve at the back of the main pump - just got it back together - starts first time now - not been for a run yet - to get to this valve you remove battery lead , alternator turbo hose then plug on valve - its held on with 3 T25 torx screws - what i would do is replace these screws with m5 cap heads just incase you need to do this again - these screws are less likely to round off . - going for a test now - if you dont hear from me its fixed !!!
thanks for the replys guys
