Looking for the block heater cord P/N...

My wife may or may not have forgot to unplug it the other day and now I need to replace the cord.

Thanks,
Travis

Like the idea, just not big of cutting a hole in my fender. Plus if I ever sell it, am I going to have a hard time selling it because of the cosmetic look of it.
I think I would try to put it in the engine bay somewhere.

Thanks for the heads up on it though.

I don't have the PN and I'm pretty sure it's not 56044738AA which is the 3.7L cord although that's not impossible. I can say for sure that the cord itself can be obtained from a dealer; my friendly parts guy found it with not trouble at all and cost was like $25. I checked stoutdog and my cords and the portion of the tag that would have the PN is gone.

Replacement is easy, access with the front skid in place was not an issue, but it is a 2 person job as you need 1 underneath the vehicle to undo/redo the cord and 1 up top to jiggle the cord so you can locate the bottom end and to feed the new cord in.

That said you might check the attachment end of the cord before purchasing an OEM replacment. I frankly don't remember what that end looked like. If it's just standard hardware you can get from a parts store or Radio Shack or reuse the existing hardware then you can purchase a 16 gauge 8' 3 wire outdoor extension cord from like Lowes for ca. $8 and make your own.
