So my transmission is shot. So now I need to have it re built. Other the a new TC what should I make sure get done right? I remembered something about a front pump? Good advice on getting a great TC? I only want to do this once. Thanks in advance |

Just to get it out there what makes you think your tranny is shot? If it is: 1. the 545RFE is a common DCJ tranny that any decent tranny shop should be able to handle. Only oddity is the transfer case which I've seen several recommendations to pull along with the tranny; apparently that's easier than just pulling the tranny. 2. IDparts is trying to source some "Euro" TCs from across the pond so you might contact them directly. Other than that the only other option that I'd trust is Suncoast unless you have access to a TC shop that you trust to do a custom build. 3. new style front pump may or may not be a good idea depending on the condition of yours. When my Suncoast TC was done mine was good to go with the original pump and a Transgo kit install. If you do go with the new pump you might want the Transgo kit parts that beef up the valve body. |
