 Post subject: over heating when air con used

Hi I have a bit of a problem which is confusing me :? my crd 2003 over heats when I use the air con, any body got any ideas :?:

May be a bad thermostat. Try going on a hilly road and under a heavier acceleration but with no ac. It it overheats again its the thermostat. If the outside temp is 70+ (22+ Celsius) and your thermostat is stuck on semi-open, it will overheat. I had a similar issue one of last summers couple years ago when the engine warmed up pretty quickly (to 1/2 on the gauge) engine didn't overheat unless going uphill for a long time. If that won't work, I'd check the ac for some restrictions.

Thank you. the temp here at times has been mid 30c to 40c near on 90+f soon as i turn air con off its ok but I get cooked then lol

Mine would overheat on a steep hill when I bought it. A bad OEM fan clutch was the cause.
