Hi guys my crd just lost significant amount of oil today under the skid plate i can not see the source of the leak but it is directly over the skid plate as i crawled under the jeep the skid plate was saturated with oil no oil or smoke is coming out of exhaust there is no CEL, it was just parked on gravel i moved it to the front of house it was not being driven ,it went from just under max to just under min mark on the dipstick . Any Ideas...... |

Check the oil pressure and return lines of your turbo. It will on the right side of the engine. |

Any Ideas...... Any mods to the CCV ? Check the Intake hose to the turbo charger, They crack and will leak oil from the CCV. Also be sure your air filter is not pluged up, if it plugs up it causes the turbo to leak oil. If the oil is not coming from the turbo side. You may need to remove the skid and inspect. Good luck. |

I do have provent installed will try to remove skid plate to check the source of leak. |

You may have to do some engine degreasing first but possible sources for that size of a leak include: 1. turbo - if it's internal you should see oil coming out of the exhaust pipe. If it's external could be a) oil feed line at block or turbo if loose (crack in line is possible, old lines are solid/newer ones have a flex section) pull airbox to turbo hose and check turbo fan for play or b) return line to block it's gravity fed more or less but the gasket at the block is just a rubber push in. 2. oil cooler on turbo side of engine a bit forward of the turbo. I doubt that amount of oil would go via the CCV or anything attached to it. |
