Hey guys. I am at work. On my way into work, snowy conditions, 4FT, my ABS, ESP BAS and car on bacon lights came on. Anything to try while on break at work? At a stop light, I tried shutting it off and restarting. Any help would be appreciated. Hey Doc, hope you missed the mess on 146 northbound. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2 |

ChooChoo, Easy fix is a magnetic wheel sensor that is a cheap and quick fix at less than 20 bucks and about 15 minutes of time including beer break. However, 2006 CRD wiring harness to magnetic wheel sensors contains wires that are too thin and too short. Lots of folks, including myself, have had a bad wire going to the passenger side rear sensor. I spliced and ran a new parallel wire as my repair after having a local shop diagnosis which sensor wasn't working and a new sensor didn't fix the problem. Good luck. For cost of diagnostic at dealership ($100 bucks), you can replace all 4 wheel sensors. If that doesn't work, try to find a shop that can read the code (its a tough one to read) and go from there with wiring. Drew |

Thanx drewd. Little hard to do searches on this stuff on my phone at work. On my break, I went out and started the Jeep. Weird thing, it stalled like there was air in the fuel. After 10 seconds of cranking, fired up. Went to go home, same thing. Coincidence or related? On the way home, after about 50 miles, stopped for fuel. After pulling out of the station, I noticed the light had gone off (it was on when I started the Jeep). That was short lived, about 3 miles later, they came back on. Driving through all that snow probably allowed some moisture in somewhere you may already have had a crack in the wiring insulation and/or the ABS sensor housing. It is a good place to start. |

I had 7 breaks in my OEM wire to the right rear wheel sensor. The ABS and stuff only worked when I road thru a puddle. Guess what just happened today while driving back in a snowstorm? I got the X-mas tree on my dash...don't know if it is a sensor (very rare to fail) or another wiring harness issue. Will get my ABS system codes read and get back to you...it'll be several days before I can do this. Choo, good luck! |

Drewd, good luck also. I am hoping my diesel guy has a machine that will read them. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2 |

For what its worth, Firestone was able to read the ESP codes and I was able to look it up and replace the correct sensor. For me it was the front driverside. |

Just got back from Henry, my Diesel Mechanic. Sure enough, no reading from the Right Rear. I have a feeling that it is a wire, but will order a sensor, too. I will probably get to it this weekend. |

I have had this problem for a little while now... Thanks for some leads on getting it figured out. Just ordered a new rear sensor and will be looking at the wiring this weekend if it warms up a bit. Funny thing on my issue is it would only happen if it was below freezing... hope this fixes it!! Darren |

Choo, Odds are its a broken wire but replacing the sensor is a 5 minute job and easier to do; it is about 12 bucks from www.rockauto.com My code came back as right front sensor yesterday and I repaired it by finding a break in its wire harness. |

Put the sensor in....nope. Took apart the wiring, and found a broken wire about 3 inches from the plug. Test drive, and lights off. YEAH, I will have cruise control again. Helps on those 60 or so mile commutes. |
