Who day Mates.

For those who have changed out their fuel lines from in tank pump/sender, what would be the length of new hoses one would recommend? Also does any marine hose brands work or are some recommended over others? I have an 06. I am going to install in tank pump and change out fuel lines while I am in the vicinity.

One last inquiry; use the same clamps or purchase better?

Thanks.

Peace,

Thomas

Most just replace the plastic line between the tank and the hard lines. This is to replace the quick disconnect fittings that tend to leak. You can look under the Jeep with out removing anything to measure what you need. Two 3 foot sections should be enough.

I wish I would have done this when I did my lift pump... I have the fuel line/clamps ready to go but the quick disconnect fittings on my Jeep at least are not so quick and are a major pain to get disconnected so I have been putting it off...

Any one have tips on disconnecting them? I have heard to press the button while pushing the lines together and then pulling apart.

I'd recommend marine grade that meets SAE J1527 type A1-15 marine (USCG) specs or ISO 7840 Type A-1 such as Shields Series 368 from West Marine.

For clamps see if you can get ones that have a smooth inside surface to avoid cutting into the line surface.

Thanks to both responders. Hopefully new fuel lines will put the beast to rest.

Looking at the inlet and outlet of the Airtex fuel pump the inlet and outlet seem to be of different diameter. Does 3/8 and 5/16 sound right? Might as well bring the pump with me to the marine shop and ic no answer has been responded on this post after I pick up hoses I will leave the diameter sizes. Thanks.

Peace,

Thomas

If I recall, those sizes are correct. 3/8" Supply. 5/16" return.

anyone had to change the line from the fuel head to the injector pump?

(I can't see the pump end - I'm wondering if there a special connector? - appears to be standard 3/8" line)
