OK, I need a little help. This glow plug thing is confusing. My 05 CRD still has the ceramic glow plugs which as I understand are 7 volt. Will the steel glow plugs sold be IDParts work with out doing anything to the factory harness and computer (ie, reflash)? It looks like the IDParts plugs are also 7 volts and made by Bosch. Some insight would be appreciated. |

The Part that ID Parts lists is a 5v Glow Plug. It appears the Dieselglowplug website is down, not sure if it's maintenance or if they're having issues. The Model # is in my Signature. GX3123. That's what you want if you want a drop-in replacement. #3 is a pain, just going to warn you now. |

Hmmm...I have the original glow plugs in my '05. I've thought about replacing them after hearing some instances of ceramic pieces coming off in the cylinders. They still work fine though. This is a good price for them. I see some people are using these. Do these work as good as the OEM glow plugs? Thanks. Billy |

The real advantage i no trip to stealer ship to get ecu remapped ease of use, drop in replacement and people are happy with them on flip side it may be argued that they take a tad extra time to crank on cold days. |

Thanks Srytrucker. Mine starts great on cold days. It won't bother me too bad if it takes an extra revolution or so. I think it would be worth the peace of mind knowing there is no possibility of a chunk of ceramic flowing through my cylinder/valves/turbo! Plus...I wasn't crazy about taking it to the stealership. We ought to start a group buy on these. I'd be in for a set. |

I would also like a set. Our CEL has been on months now with 1263. If we get 4 sets they offer 20% of. Thats about $125 for four. |

Anybody running 5v metal glow plugs on 7volts? I wonder how long they will last and if they can handle it, that would improve cold start with the 7 volt metal plugs. |

Billy I had pieces fall off, chew up my cylinders, and messed up my turbo. Others had their engines blow up from a broken plug. Its a gamble. Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk 2 |

Yes, here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=73744 But I seem to recall that he later hinted that it was customized by Keith and not just back to the original Chrysler settings. You should check with Nursecosmo and/or Keith before going this route. |

I would be in for a set. A group buy isn't a bad idea. You can even mix & match types so people with 7V, 5V, VW, Cummins, etc. could join in. |

I'd be in for a set as well. Have no problems so far at 88k but they make me nervous. |
