Want to keep the Dealer out of your ECM and TCM when you go in for a recall, here is how I did it:
Unguarded OBD II Port.

Chuck You Schumer of New York is already writing a bill to outlaw the OBD II Rape Guard. :ROTFL: :ROTFL:

Why are you going to dealers any ways? Windows? That is the last time I was there, last week, and no that did not rape the sport. :frankie:

L27 recall... and maybe ABS issues that I can't get a code on.

If you tell the dealer not to flash, will they do it anyways?

Yeah, I had that done too. I told my dealer I have $1000s in tunes and not to touch my OBD and they complied. But it is a good Idea on Warps part. 8)

Rear Lower Control Arms Recall, that was it. I wanted to make sure they did not F#CK with my Tune or TCM.
When I had the Front Ball Joint Recall, they did not check alignment and caused problems.
Personally, I trust most dealers as much as I would trust a Pedophile Kindergarten Teacher.

Do I need to post Fabrication Drawings?

Isn't the lock by itself good enough to keep them out?

No, they could wiggle the lock out of the way and plug in their OBD II based ECM/TCM raping device.
In the piece of 1/8" thick 1 1/2" X 2" long flat stock, I just drilled two holes to fit the lock and cut a slot with my metal cutting band saw, it was not rocket science.
The lock is the standard lock used for Lock Out Tag Out safety protocols, that is why it says "DANGER LOCKED OUT DO NOT REMOVE".

Looks neat, but does it have a lock?

No lock. But, if I really needed to go to the dealer, I would put my stock TCM in and I always have the programmer to reprogram in a tune.

I don't have a stock ECM since I had it redone. I can get the OBD II Rape Guard on in less than a couple Minuets. If I were younger and more limber, it would only take a few seconds. Swapping the ECM & TCM takes more time.

warp,
Nice job. I've been thinking about how to do this so it could be easily removed/installed.
I presently have a wire tightly wrapped and soldered together, but I like your idea much better.
You sure are handy!

I was just thinking about this - is it possible to do a fake OBD-II port? Sort of like the SEGR, except when it gets queried it returns "No Codes". Install it in the regular location and tuck the working one up away somewhere.

No, put a blank one with a "no codes" cover hooked into a CD ignition system so that when anything is plugged into it it it delivers a 50 kv pulse to the reader. :frankie:

"gee, I'm not sure what happened. I thought I told you not to plug anything into my Jeep, anyway, right?".

Another application for your idea, kinda on the same topic: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... -help.html
