Which Bosch PN was in your 05 vehicle?

I replaced my 05's sensor with the one mentioned here a couple of months ago and it's part no. did not match either. It has run fine ever since. I wouldn't worry about it. I sure appreciated the tip.

I dont know the part numbers for either stock or cheaper replacement, but from what I remember, I read I think on a mazda forum, the difference between the cheap and stock ones is in the max pressure they can operate. I remember the stock one can operate in slightly higher pressure, but I dont know if our crds can get in fact that high pressure. I got both parts from summitt racing a while ago and both seems to work the same, this only starting and driving in the city. I'm sure a google for [part #] + specs/technical data could reveal more info.

The one i got from the GMT dealer had the same part number as our 06 the production run numbers were different but the part numbers were the same. But i just wanted to help people against getting burned by Chrysler

Mileage check after putting in the GM sensor - 28.6 MPG highway with AC on. Best I ever got before was 23. I"m happy!

To maybe close the loop on this discussion:
1. the factory MAP senor on my 05 and my son's 06 are both the Bosch 0 281 002 437 which can be found online for about $70-$90 based on the Bosch PN
2. the GM sensor (PN 55206797) appears to be Bosch 0 281 002 845 and goes for about $20

Based on exchanging PMs with MrMopar64 I offer his comment "The 437 and 845 sensors are electrically the same, the 845 sensor should just have more robustness for use in EGR applications. I wouldn't be scared to use it, we switched to that sensor on some of the newer engines before switching sensors types due to cost (LDF6T to DS-S3, in Bosch lingo)."

So bottom line is the GM sensor is a perfectly acceptable and less expensive replacement part.

My wife's 2006 liberty had the 845 in it. So I replaced what it had it in it. BEST of all DON"T have to pay Chrysler's price and it is now affordable to replace the part every so often as a add on Preventive Maintenance.

Big improvement in mileage with the new GM part number sensor. Got 28.6 on a road trip. Best I got before was 23, and usually only 20. There is significant more pep and I also notice a slightly louder diesel rattle, but not excessive.

Wow, just found this thread after googling around about cleaning my MAP. This is great. I'll buy this one, drop it in, and clean my old one to keep as a replacement to swap in at some interval. Heck, at this price hardly worth cleaning them anymore.

Got to say it is at least finally able to have 1 cheap part on this vehicle :D . Even if Jeep / Chrysler doesn't want it to be  .

I've just ordered one from idparts. Even with postage and import duty, it's a lot cheaper than buying it here. The cheapest price from any UK seller that I can find, is £95, which I think works out to about $152. I have no idea what a Jeep main dealer here would charge. The price from idparts (including postage to UK but not tax) is $38.

When I did my TB I ordered one from ID Parts and it was a GM. Been in since April this year.

The GM dealer called and said they had the part in. So I went and got it and installed the GM part number sensor. It looked exactly the same, was a Bosch just like the one that came out. However the part number on it was different than the one that was in my 05. I'm running on it now. A big improvement in performance and no check engine light. So far so good. I don't know what to make of the Bosch number being different. I'm thinking as long as its running OK with no light its safe to use this. What does any one else think?

The BOSCH Manifold Air Pressure sensors are manufactured in various pressure ranges with signal voltage output of 0-5vdc to meet specs of various oem requirements - they may all look the same, but with differing part numbers for various pressure ranges

F'rinstance:
- a part number for 0-20psi range has 0-5v output
- a part number for 0-30psi range has 0-5v output
- a part number for 0-45psi range has 0-5v output
- a part number for 0-60psi range has 0-5v output

Thus, it can be seen that installing a look-alike 60psi MAP sensor in a 20psi system will skew the input to the ECM
- 1volt = 4psi in the oem sensor
- 1volt = 12psi in the 60psi sensor (which, of course, would immediately DTC for Overboost conditon sensed)

If ECM is programmed to accept 1volt input as 4psi - skew this digital relationship and ECM will not calculate correct fuel-to-air ratio for delivery at any throttle position\rpm\air flow operation

The offset may not be large enuff to DTC, but across-the-range operation will not be efficient, maybe even lacking in considerable power, as in the 30psi sensor is spec'ed for the KJ, but the look-alike 20psi sensor was substituted due to lower cost

Caveat would definitely be emptor in this case, eh

Reminds me of the old country doctor joke:
- looks bad, feels bad
- looks good, feels bad
- looks bad, feels good

GMTCD, what do you make of papaindigo's conversation with MrMopar64 and the fact that the part numbers were both used in 2005-2006 CRDs? MrMopar also says they are "electrically the same," so as long as you are getting the 845 (or more expensive 437) sensor, it seems that they should be spec'd for the same PSI, no?
