Dear friends, I have a big problem with my Liberty CRD 05. I have my radiator with oil and the engine oil is empty. Anybody knows about it? Thanks in advance. Javier |

Oil in your radiator? Sounds like you have a blown head gasket. Don't run or start without oil on the dipstick. You will damage the engine quickly. |

Don't run. But my doubt is why the engine oil is empty. Why the water has oil, but the engine oil doesn't have water? The pressure in the radiator is more than in the engine oil! |

+-60 PSI of oil pressure vs. +-15 PSI of cooling system pressure. Oil beats water. |

There are oil, water, and air (ie, oil return) passages between the block and the head. Depending on where exactly the gasket blows, you can get oil in the water, water in the oil, loss of compression, and all or some of the above. But no matter which you see, it's still a blown head gasket and the fix is the same. And yes, if you see any of these, it needs fixing 'cause it isn't gonna heal on its own. If you see water in the oil or no oil, DO NOT EVEN START THE ENGINE, lest you do a LOT more expensive damage. As expensive as it is to replace the head gasket, it gets MUCH worse if you also have to replace the main and/or rod bearings, too. |

There is an oil cooler on passenger side of engine, low and in front of right engine mount. It is and oil to coolant cooler, if it popped that could also explain the issue. This would be a very rare failure. |
