Hi, I'm getting ready to do a timing belt change and also remove my valve cover/intake manifold for cleaning. I would feel more comfortable using the proper tools for locking the camshafts and cam gears. Is there anybody out there who may have ownership of these and be willing to loan or rent them while I do this job?
I live on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada.

Thanks

The cam locking pins are the most important. The rest not so much. I don't like the VM flywheel pin, 6mm works great. The VM cam gear holding tool is overrated and takes more time to install than to do the job with a VW or quickly made holding tool.

I don't have tools to rent but can supply procedures for TB and intake removal. PM me if you want a copy?

Okay, thanks. I think I should have enough info to do this. I have pdf copies of parts fiche and service manual as well as the info on this site and the five youtube videos.
I think I'll order the two Miller camshaft locking pins but I can't justify the expense of the cam gear locking tool. I can probably jury rig something to work.

Thanks. I'll keep you in mind. I'm still arranging for parts and GDE stuff.
