My system...Smart phone with Torque Pro and Bluetooth ELM327 reader will only work for about 20 miles/30 minutes and then the sensors seem to stop updating.

Is anyone else having this issue? Anything I can do to fix it?

Thanks,
Jon

Are you using the right protocol?

I'm using ISO 9141-2 (5B Init, 10.4K Baud)
I trIed disabling the ELM327 auto timing adjust, but It didn't seem to help.

My 2005 does it too. Exactly what adapter do you have? Got a link to it?

As far as I can tell.

Is it worth slowing the refresh rate?

With engine warm, what do you see for a boost value at idle? I get -17. Someone once suggested an adjustment. I tried changing the minimum value to zero, but it did not work.

Sorry, I'm delayed in my response...
Don't know the OBDII adapter. No longer available on Ebay. Mine is Opaque blue and is about the second smallest size I have found on ebay.

Slowing the refresh rate doesn't seem to make a difference.

I get -17 for boost at idle too, and correction doesn't work for me either!

I'm game for trying another OBDII reader...I can always give this one to my Fiancee. I just got her an android phone, so she could make use of it!

Anyone have one that works with the 2005 without crapping out after a few minutes? (Got a link?)

Thanks,
Jon

On this one, it is the 5th one down from the top:

Blue and orange graphics

Hope whoever had the fix for negative boost readings notices this...........

Once I changed the protocol iso 9141-2 everything was fine

Doc,

I think it was in the vehicle profile section when you first launch the app.

I have never used torque pro. I noticed it is not available for iPhone.
Is it a free app for android?
Anybody know if there is a version that will work on a laptop running Linux?

Torque pro is a paid app for android $5 I think). Apple products (even macbooks) won't 'talk' to the bluetooth chip in an obdii reader because Apple is so restrictive of their hardware and software that it would take $$$,$$$ to get a device approved with the OS.

There are some linux OBDII programs out there. Try: http://batman.homelinux.com/blog/blueto ... omment-246 for a start. There should be something there that would lead you in the right direction!

Is there a way to adjust the temperature reading?
I have a 195 deg thermostat but 188 is the highest reading I have seen.
